The role focuses on regional expansion, membership growth, strategic partnerships, revenue development, and building relationships with employers, government institutions, universities, regulators, and other key stakeholders.
About the Role
As Regional Manager, Africa, you will lead the strategic development and delivery of regional activities across African markets. You will be responsible for identifying growth opportunities, expanding the organisation's network, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and driving sustainable membership and revenue growth.
This position requires strong commercial acumen, an established professional network across Africa, and the ability to engage effectively with senior decision-makers across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement regional market plans aligned with organizational objectives.
Drive membership acquisition, retention, and sustainable revenue growth.
Identify, establish, and develop strategic partnerships across African markets.
Build and maintain relationships with key employers, corporate accounts, and industry leaders.
Develop partnerships with government institutions, regulators, universities, and professional organisation’s.
Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.
Collaborate with internal teams to deliver regional initiatives, programmes, activities, and events.
Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, competitor activity, and emerging business opportunities.
Provide market intelligence, performance updates, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Strengthen the organisation's visibility, reputation, and influence across Africa.
Required Skills & Experience
African Market Expertise: Strong knowledge of African markets, with professional experience and an established regional network.
Business Development and Growth: Demonstrated experience in business development, market expansion, membership growth, and revenue generation.
Strategic Partnerships: Proven ability to establish and manage partnerships with employers, government institutions, universities, regulators, and professional organizations.
Senior Stakeholder Management: Experience engaging with C-suite executives, government officials, regulators, and other senior decision-makers.
B2B Sales and Account Management: Strong experience developing commercial relationships and managing key accounts.
Commercial Acumen: Ability to identify market opportunities, develop growth strategies, and support revenue objectives.
Communication and Negotiation: Excellent relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Regional Leadership: Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and coordinate activities across regional markets.
Preferred Experience
Experience working within a professional membership organization, professional body, education, training, or a similar organization.
Experience developing partnerships with government or non-governmental organizations.
Experience working with senior committees and other high-level stakeholder groups.
Language Requirements
English proficiency at native level.
Compensation and Employment
Annual base salary of £60,000.
Permanent employment.
Hybrid working arrangement based in Nairobi, Kenya.
